A Marketplace for Voices

Our hope is that this platform will allow people in Africa to speak directly to an international audience. It was founded by Cornelius Schuster, pictured above. He has visited Uganda several times and posts essays on theology and church history. Other contributors produce essays and videos about topics that are important to them.

Our goal is to call attention to life in northern Uganda. When the site generates donations, we will fund development projects, such as paying our content creators and improving the quality of life for people in northern Uganda. Perhaps one day, the blog will grow into an NGO and we can start building schools and health centers.

Our Team

The Ministry in Africa blog is managed by Cornelius, who earned a M.Div. degree from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary (Yonkers, New York, USA). He currently lives in New Hampshire (USA) but makes frequent trips to northern Uganda.

Susan Karalekas, the editor of this blog, has traveled to northern Uganda and supported many people and organizations there. She is Orthodox and lives in New Hampshire (USA).

Maria Alum oversees all content related to the Lango Deanery, in her capacity as founder of LaDOYA, the Lango Deanery Orthodox Youth Association.

Howard Sophrony, Otim Michael, Costas Walter, and Omara Lawrence are contributing authors.
